A group of cyclists and back up support drivers will be setting off from Aberystwyth in July 2011 on the fourth annual adventure that first took place in 2008.
We will be cycling from Aberystwyth to Fishguard, a short but hilly distance of 56 miles, crossing over by ferry to Rosslare. After arriving at the port, there is a short easy cycle to hotel in Wexford where the group will enjoy a pleasant evening meal together.
The following day we will cycle 92 miles along the Irish coast to the port of Dublin where the party will then take the ferry to Holyhead. After the second overnight stop in Holyhead we will be departing on the last 110 mile leg of the journey along the Welsh coast back to Aberystwyth.
The weekend is a real test of skill, endurance and determination for riders with a reasonable level of fitness, providing a memorable cycling experience as well as being able to enjoy a real taste of Ireland!
The Celtic Challenge Cycle Ride around the Irish Sea allows you to enjoy some of the most beautiful coastline in Wales and Ireland and has become a unique Schoolchildren for Children event.
Registration fee: £150
Recommended minimum sponsorship: £300
Cycle dates for 2011 to be confirmed
